About

Shalom Brothers and Sisters!

About Me:

I originally grew up in a Guyanese home after migrating to the USA as a little girl with my parents. The beautiful Caribbean country of Guyana. Officially the Co-Operative Republic of Guyana, this Caribbean country is located on the northern coast of South America. Once a British and Dutch colony, Guyana’s cuisine is very similar to Caribbean cooking and incorporates African, Creole and East Indian traditions. Roti, curry chicken, cassava, sweet potatoes, okra, fruit, vegetables, sorrel and ginger beer are all enjoyed by the Guyanese.

My mom would prepared and cooked all of our meals, mostly traditional Guyanese foods. I love my mom’s cooking, so this brings me to making this site and sharing my favorite recipes to all of my Hebrew Israelites Brothers and Sisters. My hubby is from Grenada, so I will be posting recipes from his mom’s kitchen too:)
